Last updated 5 September 2026. These terms govern your use of QR That Lasts. Where the copy inside the application differs from this page, this page is the one that counts.

What the service does

We give a printed QR code a permanent short address and let you change where that address sends people, as often as you like, without changing the printed pattern. Some kinds of code, such as wifi, a contact card or a phone number, carry their content inside the pattern itself. Those cannot be changed once printed, by us or by anyone, and the application says so before you make one.

Your account

You need an account to create codes. Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has it. You are responsible for what happens on your account, and for the accuracy of the address you give us.

One person or business per account. An account has a single user today; if we add a way to bring colleagues in, these terms will cover them too.

What a code may not point at

A QR code you control on somebody else’s printed material is a responsibility, and this is the part we enforce rather than merely state. You may not point a code at material that is unlawful, that impersonates another person or business, that distributes malware, or that is designed to obtain somebody’s credentials or payment details by pretending to be someone else.

We check destinations when they are set and we act on reports. If a code is doing what a report describes, we stop it resolving. Where an account is suspended for this, we say why. Anyone can report a code from the report form without an account.

Paying

Prices are shown in pounds with UK and EU VAT included. Applicable US sales tax is added at checkout. Review the total before paying. Payments are taken by Paddle, who act as the merchant of record. Paddle is the seller on your receipt and on your card statement, and they hold your card details. We never see them.

Plans renew automatically until cancelled. Paid plan changes, including downgrades, take effect when confirmed by the payment provider. The preview shows any payment due and credit before you confirm. Unused paid value becomes Paddle account credit for future invoices here, not a refund to your card. Earlier booked changes retain their existing paid access and renewal date; contact support before changing one.

Refunds are covered on the refunds page: ask within 14 days of paying and you get your money back.

Cancelling, and what happens to what you have printed

Cancelling a subscription moves you to Free at the end of the paid period. Existing active codes keep resolving, while Free limits and features apply. Closing or suspending the account, or archiving a code, stops its dynamic redirects. A dynamic code is a short link we answer on your behalf, and it requires an active account. A static code holds its destination in the printed pattern and does not depend on our redirect service at all.

What we promise, and what we do not

We aim to keep the redirect service available at all times and we monitor it continuously. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we do not offer a service level agreement at these prices. If we have an outage we will say so.

A QR code is a physical thing printed by somebody else on a material we have not seen, read by a camera we do not control. We check each design before download and refuse it if the check fails. PDF and EPS are checked through the same design in SVG, rather than decoding the final vector file. We cannot guarantee how it will behave once printed, so test a printed sample before committing to a run.

Your data

What we collect and why is set out in the privacy notice. In short: we do not sell data, we never store the raw IP address of somebody scanning a code, and you can ask for a copy of everything we hold or ask us to delete it.

Where each code has pointed over time is kept even when a code is retired. That record helps us investigate abuse complaints. A retained destination URL may itself contain personal information even after account details are erased.

Ending an account

You can delete your account whenever you like, from the account page or by writing to us. Deleting the account stops every dynamic code in it, permanently, including copies you have already printed. We will not keep redirecting printed material for somebody who has told us to stop acting for them, so it is worth being certain before you ask.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks the rules above, and we will tell you why. If we close an account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of anything you have paid.

Liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer.

Otherwise, our total liability to you in any twelve month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or the cost of reprinting material.

Changes

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will email the address on your account before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page always shows when it last changed.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the country you live in.
